Vespaholics Vespa Club

Started in a pub in Dagenham east London on the 31st December 2010 the Vespaholics is open to all riders who love the Vespa Scooter be they geared or auto. The club is based on two guiding principles, No Subs just Pubs and No Rules just Riding.

Vespaholism is a disabling addictive disorder. Its sufferers are called vespaholics. It is characterized by compulsive and uncontrolled riding of vespa scooters despite its negative effects on the riders health, relationships, and social standing. Like drug and alcohol addictions, vespaholism is medically defined as a treatable disease.

The term Vespaoholism is widely used, and was first coined in 1957 by Magnus Huss, but in medicine the term was replaced by the concepts of "vespa abuse" and "vespa dependence" in the 1960s. Similarly in 1979 an expert World Health Organisation committee disfavoured the use of "Vespaholism" as a diagnostic entity, preferring the category of "vespa dependence syndrome" We prefer to call ourselves Vespaholics.

If you think you are a Vespaholic or are showing signs of becoming one then join us at one of our meetings.

New sufferers are always welcome.
